Meet the Practicioner.

Primal Mama founder, D. Saje Howard (also known as Sacred Saje), is a third generation New Orleanian. Rooted in the south, her matriarchal lineage traces back to Alabama’s first city, Mobile.

She currently serves this area as an Ancestral Earth Tender + Wellness Practitioner—folk herbalist, yoga practitioner, full spectrum doula and holistic birth worker—with a focus on women’s health and wellness. This focus stems from her overall belief that women + mamas are the root (or womb) of society and we cannot truly grow, as a collective, without tending to + watering those roots. In 2022, Primal Mama was conceived to do just that.

In her work, she is devoted to meeting women as early in their womb wellness + conception journey as possible. This is done through her Womb Wellness Guidance, Preconception Doula and Conscious Conception Consulting services. She also aims to provide Holistic Reproductive Health Education + Ceremony to initiate young girls into their womanhood journey.

Whether the shift be puberty, pregnancy, or perimenopause, Saje is ready to support women through every sacred transition.
